Stanthorpe is the major town of Queensland’s Granite Belt district that lies in the south east of the state in the mountains of the Great Dividing Range. This range runs right along the east coast of Australia from the Snowy Mountains in Victoria right through New South Wales and stretching from southern Queensland right through to Cape Yorke Peninsular in the north. The granite belt region is a rich agricultural center and very popular as a short breaks destination for the residents of Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
